We are currently hiring for 5-10 positions for our Dancing with Deepspace Fanniversary Ball during Anime Los Angeles Weekend (January 9th).

 

There is potential work in these roles beyond the Fanniversary Ball; either in a Saturday Lounge meet and greet style event, or at an Exhibition Photobooth throughout the weekend, offering meet and greets, photo ops, and fanservice. 

 

Cast members are responsible for creating a welcoming and memorable experience through authentic, in-character performances, conversations, table games, and photo opportunities.

 

We value a strong emphasis on acting and performance over visual accuracy when it comes to cosplay actors. Cast are expected to provide their own cosplay, wigs, makeup, and props — and arrange their own travel to and during the convention.

Compensation: $18.00/hour + badge compensation.

DANCING WITH DEEPSPACE

Cosplay cast members bring the romance and story of Love & Deepspace to life through live, immersive performance. During the Ball, cast are expected to remain fully in character, engaging guests with warmth, charm, and respect. You will participate in both formal and casual dance segments — from elegant waltzes to modern, energetic numbers — while ensuring all interactions are comfortable and consent-based. Cast will help create a refined, welcoming atmosphere through conversation, light roleplay, and photo opportunities. Professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to rehearsal schedules, performance direction, and costume standards are required at all times. Cast members will work 4 hours on Friday, 8PM - 12AM. 

FANSERVICE LOUNge /OR EXHIBITION BOOTH

Cosplayers will rotate through scheduled shifts throughout the weekend and are expected to appear in full character and costume. During their shift, cast will support photo opportunities and light fanservice moments for visiting attendees, maintaining the same romantic, immersive atmosphere as the Ball itself. Cast should remain standing, engaged, and interactive — ensuring every guest feels part of the Love & Deepspace experience while upholding professionalism, approachability, and the event’s standard of elegance and charm. Our Exhibitor Booth Schedule will be dependant on cast individual scheduling. Booth fanservice and photo ops will be paid out in full to compensate the cosplayer on shift. Cosplayer may promote their appearance or sell merchandise during their shift. ​

IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY APPLIED FOR AN AICOSU EVENT, THE VIDEO PORTION OF THIS APPLICATION IS OPTIONAL.

Feel free to list anything you think makes you experienced for this role. Be it volunteering at a convention or improv classes, etc. Cosplay accolades or otherwise. 

Please note that dance experience is NOT REQUIRED but we will be expecting basic two-step waltzing for our formal dances with attendees.

All auditions and applications close on November 27th.
Applicants can expect to receive a response within approximately one week regarding whether they have been selected. In most cases, candidates may be contacted to arrange a phone or online video interview either before or shortly after the deadline.
